Description
We offer this 1953 NBA Shot Clock Historical Souvenir Glass Tray from Vocational School Gymnasium in Syracuse, NY. Many NBA fans know the importance of the shot clock and what it means to the game. Not a lot of fans may know the history of the shot clock and how it came to be. It was invented in Syracuse, NY by NBA's Syracuse Nats owner Danny Biasone. The shot clock was first tried out during a scrimmage game held in the John C. Donohue Gymnasium at Blodgett Vocational High School in Syracuse, NY, with the NBA's Syracuse Nationals in front of NBA officials and higher-ups in 1954. This is relatively early in the NBA's history, and the Syracuse Nats routinely practiced at Blodgett's new John C. Donohue Gymnasium. This was the same shot clock that would be implemented for the 1954-55 basketball season. Please see our photos and the newspaper articles we have included in our photos. Also feel free to research further on Google. This glass tray is a memento of the dedication of that gymnasium in 1953. The tray measures approximately 4.5" x 3.25" and comes in its original box which is where it has been stored all these years. It is still in fantastic shape and is extremely rare. This is your chance to add a piece of basketball history to your collection.Uncle's Attic is the accumulation of 50 years of collecting all types of memorabilia and collectibles.
