    Description

Antique 1890’s Era Souvenir Guide Booklet Entitled “Niagara Falls Museum Latest Illustrated Guide of Niagara Falls”. Reads “Made in Germany” along the bottom of the front cover. Measures approximately 6” in length and approximately 5 1/8” across. Full of outstanding black and white illustrations of the falls in the summer, frozen beautifully in the winter, bridges over the rapids and whirlpools, barrel stuntman Carlisle D. Graham with his barrel, the Michigan Central R. R. Train going over Horseshoe Falls, and informational pages including one about the various railroads that traveled to the falls, information about the Niagara Falls Museum, Observatory and Art Gallery, interior and exterior views of the museum and a page describing the latest addition to the museum. There is a map on the inside of the back cover of the guide that shows the general falls area (both the New York side and the Canadian side). There appears to be some pages missing from the guide. The front and back of the red cover are cracked right down the middle and show the patina of age. The illustrations are in surprisingly excellent condition considering the age. The pages with text are somewhat browned and fragile with age, but perfectly readable. You can see the gap in the middle of the binding where the missing pages were. When one considers that this booklet is over 125 years old, it’s condition is quite remarkable. A true piece of history of what is widely regarded as one of the top natural wonders of the modern age!!! I base shipping costs on the buyers zip code. I use very low weight (but protective) shipping materials in an effort to reduce shipping costs. Postage rate is FIRM at at least. That is the rock bottom, lowest shipping fee the post office charges for packages at First Class. If your item is larger (or heavier) requiring a larger box, please wait until I contact you with the shipping costs or go with the higher rate that eBay has put on my listing. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please ask questions before bidding and let the photos guide you as well. US SALES ONLY PLEASE!! I was a long time seller on eBay some 15 years ago with 100% positive feedback. Bid with confidence! Thanks for looking!!
