John Fyffe was born in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland in August 1883. He served during the Great War with the 47th Battalion, Canadian Infantry on the Western Front, and died of wounds, 7 May 1917.
The CEF Burial Registers gives - ‘Died of Wounds - (Shrapnel wound, left arm amputated) at No. 1 Canadian General Hospital, Etaples.’ Private Fyffe is buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
