Mary Alice Hayes served as a Theatre Sister with the British Red Cross and Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Brussels Unit, from 15 September 1914.
She was awarded the Royal Red Cross 2nd Class for this work (London Gazette 3 June 1918: ‘Theatre Sister, B.R.C.S.’)
NOTE: THIS Victory Medal is a "Replacement" Copy, without Nursing Sister Hayes' name. It serves as the natural compliment to the Mons Star
