    TOA Corporation's EM-202, the first transistorized
    electric megaphone
    , or bullhorn. Developed in 1954, this was the first truly handheld public address system; previous portable P.A. systems were very heavy because of the vacuum tubes needed to power them
    This lot is a vintage Toa electric megaphone. This is an EM-202 model of a Japanese made megaphone. This megaphone was the worlds first electronic megaphone from 1954. The microphone is in good condition however is untested as the wire between body and hand held mouthpiece has been cut SELLING AS IS  Some soiilng and wear to finish is noted Measures 16.5" in length and 13" in diameter.
