WW1 British Medal Pair & Postcard to Pte Frederick George Chilcott of the Machine Gun Corps. Includes British War Medal & Vicotry Medal both impressed “52449 PTE F CHILCOTT MGC”.
Frederick George Chilcott was born in Dodington near Nether Stowey on 14 December 1897. He lived with his parents Frederick and Rose and two brothers and sister in Cannington and then at Roemead, Gurney Slade nr Wells. Frederick worked as a farm labourer before being called up to serve in the Machine Gun Corps. After the war he married Rose Willcox at Clutton and they moved to Camerton where Frederick worked as a builders labourer. He died in 1971.
Both medals in good conditions. Some scratching on the BWM. One major blemish on the Victory Medal.
