~ Victorian Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal:
    S.J. BOURNER , GUNR, No 2157 R.M.A.
Includes copies of service records indicating Bourner was born in 1866, Blackheath, London. He enlisted in 1884 and served in several Divisions and Ships.
The LSGC Medal was awarded in 1903. The issuance of Victorian profile LS medal yet remained after 1901 and likely was due to the majority of his service during the reign of Queen Victoria as well as remaining medals remaining as the Edwardian medal started to become available.
Bourner was discharged form service in 1905.
Upon the start of WW1 Bourner attested for service in 1914, retaining his previous service member and rank and continuing until 1918. For service he received the British War Medal.
